Carmel is a silence that is broken by a song

Carmel is a silence that is broken by a song.

It is a desert where the Spirit sows seeds of joy that bloom and come to fruitfulness under the profound action of God.

It is this hidden work of the Spirit that gives fecundity to the apostolic irradiation of Carmel.

The wind of hope scatters the frail seeds of prayer upon the world, and the Divine Life is generated.

Like Mary, who bore Christ within her, the Carmelite is called to be a bearer of the Divine and to enter deeply into the Redeeming Mystery.

O Lady of the still heart, O luminous simplicity of grace!
God's loveliest and least poor One.
Light our surrenders with tranquillity and say to us:
Rejoice little ones, do not be afraid!
Love knows no other way than the unshielded heart that finds joy in utter gift...

O Beautiful Flower of Carmel, most fruitful vine, splendor of heaven, holy and singular, who brought forth the Son of God, still ever remaining a pure virgin, assist us in our necessity! O Star of the Sea, help and protect us! Show us that you are our Mother!
